What was the highlight of Swinton Hotel
Good
Close to Kings Cross and all the restaurants and shops you need. The bed was confy. There was some free coffee in the room. The staff was friendly and efficient. Fine for short stay if you plan to spend most of your time outside anyways.
Super cramped hotel (hallways, rooms). Rooms are super small, thin walls that you can hear everything from other rooms and the traffic. The showers need renovation. The lightening in the room is quite poor. There are no adapters for chargers in the room, you need to buy it at the reception. Every time you enter the place you need to ring and take your keys.

What was the highlight of Swinton Hotel
A Well Run Hotel That Makes An Excellent Choice for a Stopover in London
The host was friendly and welcoming. My room was nicer than I expected - almost obsessively clean, and clearly recently redecorated. Despite overlooking a busy main road, the excellent double glazing did an amazing job of keeping out the roar of the traffic. The hotel has 24 hour reception, which was reassuring given my late arrival on a delayed train. The location is a moderate walk from the big railway stations, and in my opinion strikes a good balance between value and convenience. I would definitely stay here again.
The lack of air conditioning, common in old London buildings like this one, meant that I had a choice between being too warm or letting in the street noise. Breakfast seemed fine, but the staff began clearing the food even before the unusually early 9 am finish, so I felt a bit short changed.

Uncomplicated, pleasant stay
Is within walking distance from King's Cross station, so great if you're just passing through. Friendly staff.
Only paper cups and plastic bottles provided in rooms. Would love to see reusable mugs.
